The 5th International Conference on Open Repositories was held at Madrid in Spain.The conference center was directly across from the Estadio Santiago Bernabéu, the home stadium of the soccer team Real Madrid. On July 7th, the street was full of supporters gathering at the public viewing area provided in the stadium for the World Cup semifinal match between Spain and Germany.
Our conference was as lively and successful as the World Cup. Particularly, this year’s conference had many speakers and presenters as well as the IUGONET group showing various ideas for applying DSpace to scientific subjects.

We visited to Kyoto University Library to discuss Kyoto University Research Information Repository (KURENAI)
because KURENAI also adopted the DSpace which IUGONET adopted. We discussed about system customization, metadata format and operation.
